Email signatures are visible when user hits the “new email” button in most common email programs such as Outlook for Windows and Mac and Apple Mail.
No, you can use Xink without having Active Directory. You can run Xink in your domain environment or you can run it in a non-domain environment. If you have your own workplace, you can easily run Xink.
Outlook (Windows), Outlook (Mac) and Apple Mail (Mac) are updated every hour.
Outlook on the web (Office 365) updates are pushed every 60 minutes.
Gmail for Work (Google Apps) updates are pushed every 60 minutes.
The update frequency can be adjusted by the administrator.
All standard fields from AD. You can also use fields you have created in a schema extension.
It can happen that the signature looks a bit different in Outlook than in the Xink preview. Here are some reasons for that.
Xink support all Outlook versions from 2010 on Windows and on Mac, Office 365 browser (Outlook on the web), Gmail and Apple Mail. You can see the signature in all email programs when you receive the email.
Please see this detailed KB article about Retina.
The Xink app is an app that you install on your PC or Mac. If you install it yourself, we provide you with an access code which is used to retrieve your own signature. The signature will then be displayed when you compose the email.
If you run it in a domain environment, the app can be provided by the IT department and you don’t need to take any further actions to get the signature.
On Mac you cannot edit your own details and you cannot add your own photo and choose which information you want in the signature (if the administrator has allowed it). All this you can do with the Xink app for Windows. Moreover you cannot deploy the Xink app by using GPO on Mac, this is a pure Windows feature.
The Windows app updates itself (only if manually installed). On Mac you will need to reinstall the app to get updates.
No. Windows and Mac are ctwo completely different platforms. Xink app for Mac can only be manually installed and manually upgraded. Xink app for Windows can be installed manually or deployed unattended via GPO on Windows via your IT department.
Yes it does. You don’t need to have Office 365 or G Suite. You just need to export the Active Directory users to Xink and then deploy the Xink app. The Xink app doesn’t care if the background server of Outlook is on-premises Exchange or Office 365 or a third solution.
In Xink administration you can choose to let Xink erase all existing signatures. Existing signatures can be removed without applying any GPO.
Yes. However it is not required for users running Outlook on the web.
